Missions

Missions:

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:18-20 NIV

Here at LCC we want to reach out to our local community with love in the name of Christ.  But we don’t want to stop there.  We want to partner with others to help take the gospel of Jesus all over the world.  That’s why a minimum of 10% of every dollar we receive in giving is spent on local or overseas ministries that focus on bringing others into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Here are the ministries that we partner with to help make the words of Jesus a reality.

Angel Tree Ministries (Prison Fellowship):

For 2.7 million children in the U.S., that story may be filled with the abandonment, loneliness, and shame that come from having a mom or dad in prison. For many, it may also include following their parents down the same destructive road to incarceration. Angel Tree®, a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of prisoners and their families with the love of Christ. This unique program gives you an opportunity to share God’s love by helping to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners.

C2C Christian Mission is involved in setting up churches, training church leaders, and equipping them to reach out to the Chinese people.

Currently C2C is embarking on a major outreach to Chinese college students that attend local colleges and universities like Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester. The events that are being unveiled include:

Coffee House
Christmas Party
Chinese New Year Party

Emmanuel-Maria Foundation:

Emmanuel Maria Foundation (the American Arm of the Emmanuel Maria Charity Assoc.) exists only by God’s mighty hand.  He has made it possible for the Emmanuel Maria Charity Association in Arad, Romania to provide so many things to so many of God’s people.

Here are just a few of the amazing things our brothers and sisters in Christ are able do in HIS name:

  • Provide humanitarian aid and assistance by purchasing and delivering food and clothing.
  • Aiding in obtaining Health Care for those who are in need.
  • Bring Electricity into homes with out these necessities that we so take for granted.
  • Provided the funds to dig a well for clean water to a large foster family.
  • Meeting the needs of the widows and children that are so vulnerable.
  • The Cow Project provided a cow to a family of 9 who promptly gave it away to a second family that lost the         dad in a car accident and then housed and cared for the cow for the widow. Funds were then raised for a second cow so that both family’s needs were met. (All within 2 months to beat winter snow)
  • But most of all bringing them the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS!!
  • Providing Bus Passes so that the children can attend school. An after school program that also brings the light of Jesus into a dark and cold world.

All the funds that are raised go to underwrite the many projects that God places on their hearts.

All the US staff is manned by volunteers.

Please be a part of making a difference in our world.  We here in America have so very much and they have so very little.

“And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the lease of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” NLT

Greeting Card Ministry:

We believe that greeting cards are a personal expression of love and support from your church family. A communication tool to express we truly care. It is also a means for building and strengthening relationships. In this world of technology today, a hand-written card in the mail is our hope to brighten someone’s day. To let them know God loves them and is there for support and celebration.

Helping Hands Ministry:

Providing meals and/or assistance to those who have been blessed with a newborn or to those who need a “Helping Hand” due to the newborn or other health issues.

These events are coordinated by the Women’s Ministry Team.

Joni And Friends:

Joni and Friends is a non-profit organization that reaches out to people affected by disability around the world.  They accomplish this through sending wheelchairs around the world to those who need them, through family retreats for families affected by disability, and through educating local churches on how to minister to those who are affected by disability.

New England Seafarers Mission:

Where you can go on an International Mission Trip and be home in time for dinner.

The mission has two main tasks. To bring the Love of Jesus to crew members on commercial ships in the ports of Boston and Providence Rhode Island 12 months of the year. There the Port Chaplains visit ships of all flags and sit with the crewmembers to pray and discuss any issues, concerns or help that the crew member may need. The chaplains also deliver Christmas Ditty Bags (containing toiletries, sweets, socks, t-shirt and knit beanies) during the Christmas season to all the ships that they visit. Members of LCC are involved with the “Ditty Bag Packing Day” in early October.

The second, and larger volunteer task is the operation of the Mission facility at the Black Falcon Cruise Ship Terminal in Boston. The Chaplains, staff and dozens of volunteers provide services like helping the crew members with sending money home to families world-wide, receiving and distributing packages that the crew members have purchased on-line. They also operate a small store selling items that the crews desire which includes ethnic foods, personal care items, snacks, and soft drinks.  LCC is very involved in this part having two days each year that we volunteer to staff the mission as a group. In addition, many LCC family members volunteer on other single days throughout the cruise ship season from April to the end of October. A place to Love One More!
