Children’s Ministry at Londonderry Christian Church

Nursery
Care for children from birth to 2 ½ is provided in our nursery for both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday services. The nursery is staffed with volunteers who love little ones, and seek to serve the families of LCC through this ministry. The nursery offers a space for play, a variety of toys and loving supervision.

Parents who attend on a regular basis are asked to consider volunteering 1 week per quarter. *

Preschoolers
The preschool serves children ages 2 ½ through Kindergarten. The class offers growing youngsters the opportunity to play, as well as learn in a semi-structured class environment. The children are given the opportunity for free play, and also participate in a lesson time that generally includes a Bible story, video and a game or craft activity. A combined class of preschool and elementary age students meets at 9 a.m. The 11 a.m. class is preschool-only*.

Elementary-Age
The elementary class serves children in 1st-5th grade. Children learn about God’s word through stories, video and hands-on activities. the elementary age students attend with the preschool class at 9 a.m., and meet in a separate class at 11 a.m.*

*We are continually looking for volunteers who have a heart for children and would like to serve in this ministry.

Please contact an Elder, Pastor Dave, or Maggie Holm for more details.

Curriculum
Children aged 2 ½ – Grade 5 participate in lessons from Group’s Dig In curriculum. The current focus for this year is Through the Bible. Each week, children learn a key lesson from a different book of the Bible. The sequence of lessons begins with Genesis and moves through the Bible. The lessons include engaging
activities, videos and opportunities for application.

Check-in/Check-out
Our classrooms are equipped with a check-in/check-out system. Parents are asked to bring their children to class. Students will be checked in electronically, and parents receive a name tag with a code. At the end of class, a parent can then check their child out with the tag. This process helps ensure security and safety for our youngsters. The code would also be used to discreetly notify a parent during service, if they were needed in the classroom.

Youth Group
Students in grades 6 and up are invited to participate in Youth Group, led by our Worship and Youth Minister, Matt Daniels. Youth group meets on Sunday Nights, and for various events throughout the year.
